PROJECT Harbour Lights
LOCATION Cairns, Australia
CLIENT Honeycombes Property Group
ARCHITECT Denton Corker Marshall

DécoR Stone’s latest addition to their portfolio of providing their quality decorative stone solutions to landmark projects is Denton Corker Marshall’s Harbour Lights Cairns. Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, reveals the most enthusiastically awaited architectural development on the East Coast of Australia: Cairns Harbour Lights- the epitome of excellence. Expected to set a new benchmark in modern architecture and elevate the touchstone of contemporary waterfront living, Cairns Harbour Lights is the absolute waterfront residential address and is steadily becoming the aspiration of design.

Harbour Lights Cairns is a joint project between two iconic North Queensland enterprises, the Honeycombes Property Group and Chapman Group. This residential development is designed to reign as the leading first-class suburban address and was awarded the Tropical North Queensland Tourism Award for New Tourism Development 2007.

Designed by prominent architects Denton Corker Marshall, Cairns Harbour Lights offers modern and innovative design and architectural genius. Denton Corker Marshall’s creations speak a unique architectural language which is branded by an adamant attitude to superior design quality. The practice’s ability to manifest complex design problems into unique architectural phenomena is the hallmark of Denton Corker Marshall. This breathtaking and unrivalled project is only one small element in the impressive portfolio of this architectural practice which also includes the design of one of Melbourne’s landmarks- The Bolte Bridge.

Harbour Lights is a 193 architecturally designed 12 stories high apartment block offering views of Trinity Inlet, Trinity Bays, Cairns City and the Esplanade precinct. Harbour Lights’ modern shape and almost delicate and misleading exterior contradicts the magnitude, talent and richness within. In addition to this panaromic view, occupants enjoy a breathtaking roof deck design that was achieved using DécoR Stone's range of imported decorative pebbles. So far, DécoR Stone supplied 65 tonne of  pebbles, which include Granulati Charcoal 10-15mm, Ming Bluestone 10-15mm and Ming Magpie 10-20mm.

Denton Corker Marshall has accomplished a foreboding architectural presence with the design of Harbour Lights. The almost legendary Denton Corker Marshall achieved an architectural marvel with the only one of its kind central open-air atrium, created to saturate the core of the structure with natural light.

While Harbour Lights is the icon of architectural excellence, the involvement in the design of the roof decks using imported pebbles has been an icon for DécoR Stone’s extensive collection of decorative stone solutions and reminiscent of their reputation as a leader in the decorative stone industry.
