Tactiles on a wooden floor: DTAC have the solution
Tuesday 30th October 2007
|
The Depth of DTAC’s tactile indicator innovations are illustrated by their approach to wooden floors.
Before these innovations Tactiles placed in wooden floors were a long-term Maintenance nightmare. The Tactile Indicators (TGSI’s) were permanently fixed, and only moveable with chisel & Hammer, causing extensive damage to the flooring. This was the result of holes being drilled into the floor and the Tactiles glued in.
DTAC have 3 tactile solutions for this:
- Place a plate on the timber floor sitting 2mm high with the Tactile Indicators fixed into the plate.
- Have the floor cut in the manner of a bas-relief so the tactile plate is flush with the floor. These plates can be easily removed during maintenance work.
- Have each Tactile individually screwed in. These are removed during maintenance and replaced. This method takes more time but is more functional.
For more Information on these solutions or any other either go to www.dtac.com.au, call 1300 793 478 or email solutions@dtac.com,au. DTAC is an Australian company that manufactures in Australia. DTAC re-cycle their product. |
