  TREND WINDOWS & DOORS
  Company Profile

Trend Windows & Doors Pty Ltd was originally formed as Trend Windows Pty Ltd by four partners including the current Chairman, Don Summergreene.Trend Windows commenced manufacturing Western Red Cedar windows and doors on July 1, 1968 at Girraween, NSW.

Five years later the company began manufacturing aluminium sliding windows. In the early days of aluminium windows, the product range was very basic, however Trend Windows was one of the first window manufacturers to assemble an aluminium double hung and awning window, and the first company to manufacture an individually glazed aluminium window.

In 1973, the company was sold to Rio Tinto Zinc, during this time the company expanded it’s manufacturing operations to Tamworth, Canberra, Newcastle, Victoria, Queensland and finally South Australia. In the early 1980’s the company was sold to Naco and in 1987 the company was acquired by Kalamazoo. In 1993 Trend Windows purchased Vincent Windows, another large Sydney based window manufacturer, which assisted in its rapid growth.

In December 1994, James Hardie acquired Trend Windows and changed its name to James Hardie Windows. Under James Hardie’s ownership the company purchased Crestlite Windows in 1995 and Framex in 1996. In the late 90’s James Hardie invested significant funds in the development of the revolutionary new Quantum Windows product range.

In December 2001, James Hardie sold the Windows division to a consortium led by the current Chief Executive Officer, Colin Forster and Crescent Capital Partners Ltd and the company was re-named Trend Windows & Doors Pty Ltd.

Trend Windows & Doors Pty Ltd is an Australian manufacturing company, which manufacturers and sells timber and aluminium windows under the brand names of Trend Windows (comprising timber and aluminium windows and doors), Framex Windows (architectural cedar windows and doors) and Quantum Windows (aluminium windows and doors).

Trend Windows employs around 500 people and a large number of these have 20 years service, encompassing many years experience in manufacturing quality window and door products.
