Upgrade existing single glazed sliding window sashes to double glazed sashes
Thursday 27th September 2007
|
Trend Windows & Doors has released into the Trend Sliding Window range their new Double Glazed Thermashield window product to replace the existing unit in the range, which uses adaptors.
The new Thermashield range has the IGU fully glazed into the sash with a 18mm double glazed unit.
What is unique about this window is that the new sash can be fully retrofitted to existing frames already in the marketplace. This would allow for an existing house that has been fitted with single glazing to be thermally upgraded to better u-value/SHGC results, without major construction work required. So householders can get a double glazed option without spending major dollars on construction. Existing low-lites can be also upgraded to double-glazing to get better energy efficiency values
The Quantum Range of Windows and Doors also includes the opportunity to upgrade the existing sashes to double-glazing for better energy ratings.
The volume of product in the marketplace that is single glazed is significant and as energy becomes important, then existing residential properties to become compliant to energy will require cost efficient options for upgrades. Trend Thermashield with the wide variety of choices has these covered.
All Trend products are fully rated to NATA standards and AS2047 as well as WERS (Window Energy Rating System). Currently these products are being redone to NFRC energy values.
Trend Thermashield means greater control, bigger savings and, more importantly, one less thing to worry about.
