TORMAX HISTORY WORLDWIDE
In 1951 the Swiss manufacturing company LANDERT-MOTOREN AG, produced the world’s first TORMAX automatic door operators and the initial flag-ship of TORMAX electro-hydraulic automatic door operators, the TORMAX T1/TV, is presently still in daily operation in many locations around the world.
In 1963 new door technology standards were set with the launch of the electro-hydraulic automatic sliding door operating system TORMAX TD and during the year 1981 the number of TORMAX door operator installation exceeded 10,000 units for the first time.
The introduction of intelligent TORMAX TCP processor technology during 1989 again revolutionized the automatic door operator industry worldwide and through continuing innovations, research and development, by LANDERT-MOTOREN AG, it has always retained it’s undisputed title of being the world’s leading manufacturer in automatic door technology.
This advanced TORMAX TCP processor technology opened further opportunities of unique door control features such as networking and remote service analysis of door operators and the TORMAX UNINET facility management system, which was launched in 1995, was again the result of ongoing innovation.
TORMAX is an internationally recognized and respected trademark in door and gate operation automation and TORMAX products are represented worldwide by more than 120 distribution partners and 15 TORMAX subsidiaries. Through ongoing commitment to research and development in the full range of door operation, security, customer safety and sensor technology, TORMAX will continue to have a guaranteed place at the forefront of the world’s door automation industry.
TORMAX HISTORY IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
In the late 1950’s the need and convenience of automatically operated entry doors became recognized also in Australia and just like in 1951 when TORMAX automatic doors were introduced to the world, it was again LANDERT-MOTOREN AG with TORMAX that made it possible in Australia.
The initial flagship of TORMAX electro-hydraulic automatic door operator TORMAX T1/TV, which is still in daily operation in many locations around the world, was manufactured under a license agreement in Australia, both a sliding and a swing door operator version. This proven blend of Swiss and Australian engineering and technology cooperation is still successfully applied at present, after more than forty years of Australian TORMAX presence.
TORMAX is represented Australia-wide through a network of both TORMAX owned and independent distribution and service partners.
