Advanced Safety Features

Otis understands the importance of safety in the home and has included the following safety features into the HomeLine:

• Stand-by Power brings the car to the nearest floor with Emergency Lighting in the event of home power failure.
• In-car Telephone – allows passengers to call OTISLINE®
• OTISLINE® Customer Care Centre is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, assisting by logging service calls and dispatching a qualified Technician to the home (Otis Service Agreement required).
• Light Beam Door Protection System detects obstacles in the doorway and will automatically reopen the doors if they are closing or keep them open until the obstacle is removed.
• Ventilation Fan provides airflow to the car.
• Overload Warning – if overloading is detected an in-car buzzer will activate and the car will automatically adjust the level.
• Parking Key Switch – allows the elevator to be turned off when not in use or to prevent access to children.
• Door Lock System ensures the hall doors do not open when the elevator cars is not at that floor.
• Over Speed Detector stops the elevators if abnormal travelling speed is detected.
• Emergency Brake System provides overall passenger safety when travelling in the car.
