| THE MORTICIA CHAISE |
Designed by Richard Park at Blok for Interstudio, the Addams Family is a new furniture collection, headed up by the Morticia chaise. With its elegant detailing and button stitching, Morticia features turned legs and unexpected bentwood chair backs on a timber support beam. The chaise’s legs and backs can be finished in white, black or a walnut stain.
Complementing Morticia, the other pieces in the collection include the Gomez sofa, with a more conventional upholstered back; Wednesday, a backless chaise; It, a fringed chaise; and the Grand Mama armchair. The final piece of the collection is the elaborate Uncle Fester light.
Most fabrics and leathers can be used and, as the product is locally produced, many custom sizes are available.
The use of recycled chair backs also gives the Morticia chaise an added environmental dimension. It can even be fabricated using a client’s preloved dining chairs.
The Addams Family collection is available from Interstudio in Sydney and Melbourne and appointed resellers.
