Specify INVISTA Antron® Carpet Fibre to have your carpet manufactured for any commercial project, either from stock or custom designed from the following mills:
- Interface Carpets
- Ontera Modular Carpets
- Feltex Carpets
We can assist you with writing a carpet specification that contains end use performance standards.
We've developed a number of specifications that you can use to ensure that you receive the carpet and service you want. We've taken care of the details and fine print so you can just attach these to your project specifications.
The specifications provided are generic carpet specifications for loop pile carpets to help you as you specify your project. Industry test methods and desired performance ratings are included in the specs because they are the best way to ensure your carpet performance requirements will be met.
Generic specification for carpet of Antron Lumena® solution dyed nylon
Loop pile broadloom
Note: pile thickness and pile weight measurements need to be added to this specification.

2.1 MATERIALS
2.1.1 Carpet: Throughout this contract shall be of the same type and manufacturer. Carpeting shall be:
2.1.1.1 Yarn: 100% first quality, bulk continuous filament nylon type 6,6 offering a construction and performance standards testing program by fiber producer. Fibre shape to have maximum Modification Ratio of 1.5 for soil release capabilities. Fibre identification to AATCC 20.
2.1.1.2 Static Control: By permanent means (i.e. antistatic filaments) and without chemical treatment, static generation below 3.5 kilovolts under standard conditions of 65 F and 20% relative humidity. Electrostatic Propensity (Static delayed signal): AATCC 134.
2.1.1.3 Construction: tufted or woven, level or multi-level loop pile with maximum height variation of 1/32 inch
2.1.1.4 Dye Method: 100 % Solution dyed
2.1.1.5 Pile Weight: minimum (__) oz/yd2
2.1.1.6 Pile Thickness: (__) mm maximum
2.1.1.7 Primary Backing: polypropylene
2.1.1.8 Secondary Backing: woven polypropylene/lates
2.1.1.9 Resistance to Delamination: AS2111.16 minimum bond strength 50 Newtons per 50mm
2.1.1.10 Tuft Bind: AS2111.15 force to withdraw individual tufts not less than 30 Newtons
2.1.1.11 Flammability: ASISO2939-1 radiant flux value depends on building classification and whether sprinklers are fitted
2.1.1.12 Colorfastness to Light: AATCC 16E, 200 AFU, International Gray Scale for Color Change rating min 3-4.
2.1.1.13 Colorfastness to atmospheric contaminants: AATCC 164(ozone) & AATCC 129 (oxides of nitrogen) for 2 cycles, International Gray Scale for Color Change rating min. 3-4.
2.1.1.14 Stain Resistance - AATCC 138 for 5 washings to simulate removal of topical treatments by hot water extraction, followed by: AATCC 175, minimum level 8 using AATCC Red Dye 40 Scale
2.1.1.15 Soil Resistance: An average of 3 fluorine analyses (AATCC 189) of a single composite sample to be a minimum of 500 ppm fluorine by weight when new and 400 ppm fluorine by weight after 2 AATCC 171 (HWE) cleanings
2.1.1.16 Appearance Retention TUC247/251 hexapod test rating 3.0 or greater after 16,000 cycles
