Antron® Puts Four on the Floor
While a number of factors generally influence commercial carpet performance, the type of fiber used in the carpet is the single most important element. After 30 years, Antron® nylon remains the performance leader by demonstrated superiority in:
- Resistance to dry soil and liquid stains
- Pile height retention
- Resistance to matting, crushing and abrasive wear
This adds up to superior appearance retention for the life of your commercial installation - a claim not every fiber, or even every nylon fiber, can make, especially with the demands of a typical commercial environment.
The superior performance of Antron® is based on four major elements:
Superior Polymer Substrate - Type 6,6 Nylon
Exclusive Fiber Engineering - Four Hole Hollow Filament
Advanced Soil Resistance Technology - DuraTech® soil resistant treatment
Performance Testing - Antron® Performance Standards Program
6,6 Degrees of Separation
Superior Polymer Substrate Type 6,6 Nylon
Key Benefits: Superior resistance to liquid stains; outstanding pile height retention; unsurpassed resistance to matting, crushing and abrasive wear.
We invented nylon and chose type 6,6 because of its superior characteristics. Type 6,6 nylon has a tighter molecular structure than type 6 nylon due to a higher level of hydrogen bonding and maximum alignment between molecular chains. This tighter structure makes it tougher for stains to penetrate and increases resistance to crushing and matting. Type 6 nylon does not have this level of internal bonding, resulting in a more open structure.
What Shape is Your Carpet In?
Exclusive Fiber Engineering - Four Hole Hollow Filament
Key Benefits: The lowest soiling propensity of any fiber, and improved long-term carpet appearance.
The specially engineered square four hole hollow filament shape on Antron® adds to the superior characteristics of the Type 6,6 nylon polymer.
Used in bulked continuous filament (BCF) products, the hollow filament fiber shape has a smooth exterior surface that resists soiling. In addition, its four internal voids refract and diffuse light to reduce the effect of soiling.
Better Soil Resistance Through Better Technology
Advanced Soil Resistance Technology - DuraTech® Soil Resistant Treatment
Key Benefits: Long-term appearance retention, lower maintenance costs.
DuraTech® patented soil-resistant treatment is the most durable fluorochemical/soil release product available today. Available only on carpets of Antron®, DuraTech® makes it more difficult for dirt to stick to the fiber surface.
DuraTech® is the one-time treatment that doesn't wash or walk off, so it keeps carpet looking newer longer. As a result, the cost of hot water extraction cleaning for carpets treated with DuraTech® is lower than cleaning costs for carpet not treated with DuraTech®.
Nobody is Harder on Carpet than Antron®
Antron® Performance Standards Program
Key Benefit: Quality assurance.
All styles of Antron® Legacy and Antron Lumena® have passed rigorous performance testing. Because both Antron® Legacy and Antron Lumena® are tested, you have the assurance of unsurpassed resistance to staining, soiling, crushing and texture loss in your carpet of Antron®.
Plus, carpets of Antron® Legacy nylon and Antron Lumena® solution dyed nylon are warranted by INVISTA for static resistance and against abrasive wear.
