SUN-PATH DIAGRAM
A Sun-path diagram is a continuous projection of the various positions of the sun during the year for a given latitude either north or south. The curved horizontal lines represent the sun's path on the 21st day of each month. The slightly curved vertical lines give the hours of the day, as indicated: intermediate days and hours are established by interpolation.
With the sun-path diagram, the position of the sun and the angle of the sun with the horizon, both on a given day and hour, can be found.
This information will determine the effect of a given sun-louvre construction, or establish which type of sun-louvre construction best meets the requirements of a project.
The HUNTER DOUGLAS Architectural Sales Group has available a full set of sun-path diagrams for major centres throughout Australia and New Zealand, together with the associated design aids required to solve problems of sun protection. Thus the group is able to provide direct assistance in this field.
