Birrus - Entrance Matting
BIRRUSULTRAMAT is constructed from alternate treads of aluminium and carpet running across the doorway. The carpet treads are securely held within extruded aluminium retaining sections which are lightly furrowed on the exposed surface to produce a non-skid surface.
A stunning selection of carpet colours is available in the latest shades, ranging from soft muted shades to deeper bold tones, offering a carpet to co-ordinate with any chosen colour scheme.
Anodising of aluminium sections in selected colours can be arranged. Price is extra on application.
Note: Anodising is a coating which will, in time, wear with surface contact.
BIRRUSDURAMAT is a highly effective alternative for heavier traffic areas. The ribbed rubber scraping bars set between extruded aluminium sections ensure maximum durability and high dirt removing capacity.
BIRRUSDURAGRIT (abrasive grip) is a hardwearing non-slip tread insert developed for internal and external environments where adjacent floor surfaces may prove hazardous. This unique product provides safe footing in high traffic areas exposed to water or slippery conditions.
BIRRUSCOCAMAT incorporates ribbed aluminium extrusion and NATURAL COIR inserts creating an efficient cleaning action. The coir fibres stand 10mm above the aluminium treads and penetrate the crevices of shoe soles, removing loose dirt and moisture.
A BIRRUSMATADOR works without the conscious co-operation of the visitor, for the corrugated rubber flicks the dust from beneath the shoes. The dirt removed falls beneath the mat where it remains trapped until taken up by vacuum cleaner.

Birrus matting is custom-made to clients specifications. Larger mats are installed in sections and where possible will be sized to enable rotation of mats to maximise life and appearance. It is important to indicate positions of doorways to avoid divisions occurring where it is not aesthetically pleasing or at the point of heaviest traffic flow. Mats may be shaped to suit virtually any angled or circular area. A rigid template of the matwell is required to ensure a good fit for non-rectangular shapes.
Sizing:
Mats are made with nominal 4mm clearance in each direction to allow for metal expansion.
