Birrus - Entrance Matting
MATTING INSTALLATION

SURFACE MOUNTED - with aluminium tapered ramps to perimeters.

RECESSED - BIRRUS matting systems require an internal matwell depth of 10, 16 or 22mm.

Standard Birrus matwell frames are fabricated using aluminium angle for compatibility with our mats. Overall depths are 12, 20 and 25mm.

Place framing in an oversize recess and set angles level with adjoining floor surfaces, Grout in or screw fix as required. Contractors are advised, to ensure proper performance of the entire assembly it is absolutely necessary that base of matwell is formed to a level plane.

MATWELL FRAME INSTALLATION:

Place frame in position so that upper edge of frame is flush with finished floor level.

Screed base of matwell up to inside dame ledge level to support mat and then screed around frame to fix in position.

RAMP FRAME FOR SURFACE MOUNTED INSTALLATIONS

Extruded aluminium sections with an attractive tapered ribbed profile for use where recessed matwells are not practical. Ramps may be fixed to any or all sides, and can be countersunk drilled on request.

Size:
63mm wide to suit 16 and 22mm deep Birrus matting.
50mm wide to suit 10mm deep matting.

MAINTENANCE
  • Vacuum clean matting regularly and if required spot clean carpet inserts with dry shampoo, or steam clean as required.
  • Rubber and Vinyl inserts can be restored by wiping over with a damp mop, using a multi-purpose detergent. For abrasive grit, the best method is a hot water hose or stiff brush. Do NOT use mops.
  • Coir inserts should be vacuumed regularly to remove dirt, grit and loose fibres which collect in the treads.
  • Replacement of inserts is a simple job carried out in situ. A full range of inserts is available from your local distributor.
  • Restore lustre to ribbed aluminium sections by lightly rubbing over with abrasive wool.
