983® Silicone Sealant

Dow Corning 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant is a two-part silicone formulation that cures to a high-modulus elastomeric adhesive/sealant exhibiting the following unique features:

  • Structural capability 1
  • Excellent unprimed adhesion to most common building substrates including glass, reflective coatings, metals and paints
  • Consistently nonslump
  • 12-month shelf life
  • Adjustable cure rate ranging from 30 to 60 minutes 2
  • No lot match of components
  • Easy tooling

1 All structural applications MUST be reviewed by the technical staff, Dow Corning Corporation. If their recommendations are followed, Dow Corning will issue a structural adhesive warranty for a specific job.

Dow Corning 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant is virtually unaffected by sunlight, rain, sleet, snow and temperature extremes. Its unique weatherability enables it to remain flexible and watertight even after years of exposure. Dow Corning 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant is compatible with reflective glass, laminated glass and most insulating glass.
