Designbuild 2007 champions green building
Friday 29th June 2007

Designbuild Australasia, staged at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre 3rd - 6th June 2007, was a landmark event for the building and design industries in Australasia, according to organisers Diversified Exhibitions Australia. The event was not only the largest trade exhibition for the industry ever held in Sydney, but it was also the most eco-friendly, with a major focus on sustainability and green building. The exhibition occupied an impressive 20,000m2 of floor space and hosted 460 exhibitors from 17 countries including major groups from Canada, China and Malaysia.

The Designbuild Green Building Seminars were staged with support from the Green Building Council of Australia, the Australian Architecture Association and BCI Australia. They were appreciated by a total audience of over 800 delegates, with most sessions being presented to a full house. The program included two fully-subscribed Australian Architecture Association tours of environmentally sustainable buildings in Sydney, led by respected environmental architect Tone Wheeler.

The buying groups came from China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, PNG, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, USA and UAE.
