AL 400
The Automatic Single Slide/Bi-Parting Door Operator is to be a 240V fully electric BWND AL400 Operator, fully housed in an extruded aluminium housing (height 265 x width 152mm). The Operators must be manufactured in Australia and have at least 85% Australian content.

The equipment will incorporate the following:

A constant rated, continuous cycle 7kg torque capacitor start and run squirrel cage motor with PLC current sensing; computerised micro-processor control with a programmable feature that incorporates solid state switching of the motor. Chain drive with average tensile strength of 1950kg and a 12.7 minimum pitch; self lubricating planetary gear box with spiral bevel drive, a replaceable track is to be stainless steel, carrying hanger bars supported by fully sealed ball raced glass fibre reinforced nylon track wheels.
  • Operator to have a motor electric lock fitted, to lock the doors via the drive train regardless of the door position. Electric lock to incorporate battery reserve, rechargeable circuits and all associated wiring, battery and charger monitor.

The Operator must have positive electric braking; fully adjustable speed control with independent settings for open/close and on final speed on both opening and closing. Selectable fire alarm interfacing; automatic re-closing circuitry to ensure doors re-close if partially opened; automatic reversing if obstructed during closing sequence with fully adjustable sensitivity setting, automatic stop and retry if obstructed during opening sequence at a predetermined programmable time and speed.

The Operator is to be actuated by two BWND MDS microwave directional movement sensors as standard equipment. Dual sets of jamb fitting high gain, (up to 15m), flush mounted photo electric cells that will prevent the door from closing if the threshold area is obstructed. A four-position mode switch to select the following functions, Auto/Exit/Hold open/Lock. Keyed mode and emergency exit switches to be provided as required.

Intermediate selectable opening widths or /climate control facility, and ability to provide operational data outputs to building security system.

The Operator is to incorporate a failsafe device to fully open doors on power failure or on fire signal in accordance with the Building Code of Australia and AS4085.
