Building designers and builders can learn more about Boral plasterboard’s green credentials in the new Green Building with Boral Plasterboard.
With green building and sustainable construction practices being adopted on a growing number of building projects, building designers and builders require material suppliers to provide information on the green credentials of their products. With this in mind, Boral has released Green Building with Boral Plasterboard, outlining the life-cycle impact of plasterboard on the environment.
The publication covers such issues as remediation works at the company’s gypsum mine at Lake MacDonnell in South Australia, use of recycled materials in plasterboard manufacture, waste and landfill reduction measures and comparative embodied energy of lightweight construction.
The publication also outlines the positive effect of plasterboard on the internal building environment due to its toxic-free and porous composition and through its use in applications like acoustic and fire-rated construction.
