eurekaWALL™

Vertical Section
  1. Install track at head of wall – fastening at max. 600mm centres.
  2. Install the angle at the base of the wall – fastening at max. 600mm centres.
  3. Install vertical track where wall commences – fastening at max. 600mm centres.
  4. Apply an acoustic fillet sealant where angles and tracks abut surfaces, as shown. Alternatively apply acoustic sealant or closed-cell acoustic foam between the angles and tracks and their respective abutting surfaces.
  5. Cut ‘I’ studs and Shaftliner sheets in lengths – 15mm shorter than the floor to ceiling height.
  6. Fit Shaftliner sheet into head and wall tracks (or previous stud) and hard against base angle.
  7. Push 22mm diameter IBS rod into gap above Shaftliner sheet – ensuring that there are no gaps.
  8. Fit another Shaftliner sheet into head and wall tracks (or previous stud) and hard against previous sheet.
  9. Fit ‘I’ stud into head track and against the end of the two Shaftliner sheets so that they fit snugly in between the flanges of the stud and hard against its web.
  10. Screw the base angle to the I stud with a single 10-16 x 16mm Type D screw.
  11. Repeat steps 6 to 10 until the remaining wall length is 600mm or less.
  12. Fasten an angle vertically, at 600mm centres, to the face of the wall that the EurekaWALL™ is being terminated on. Ensure the free leg of the vertical angle lines up with the upright leg of the angle at the base of the wall.
  13. Cut a Shaftliner sheet to fit snugly between the last stud web and the angle on the terminating wall, then cut this sheet horizontally in half.
  14. Install the bottom half of this Shaftliner sheet between the stud flanges and screw to the angle on the terminating wall at 400mm centres using 6-18 x 45 type D screws.
  15. Install top half of this Shaftliner sheet between stud flanges and against the face of the bottom sheet.
  16. Slide the top half sheet upwards until it is within the head track then position it so that it sits directly over the edge of the bottom sheet. Screw the top sheet to the angle on the terminating wall at 400mm centres using 6-18 x 45 type D screws.
  17. Push 22mm diameter IBS rod into gap above Shaftliner sheet – ensuring that there are no gaps.
  18. Cut another Shaftliner sheet to a width 17mm narrower than the previous sheet.
  19. Fit this sheet into head track and slide home between the stud flanges – leaving the 17mm gap between the end of the Shaftliner sheet and the terminating wall.
  20. Fasten the front sheet to the back sheet, using 10-8 x 50 Type L screws at 200mm centres along both sides of the of horizontal cut and at 400mm centres along the vertical edge.
  21. Fit a continuous 22mm dia. IBS rod into gap between the edge of the last Shaftliner sheet and terminating wall.
  22. Construct and seal adjacent lining, furred or free standing walls, as required, to standard Boral Plasterboard details.
