Essential Design Requirements
The following requirements are essential to maintain the fire-rating integrity and acoustic performance of the PartiWALL™ Shaft Liner membrane:
- Use only the specified aluminium support clips to attach the H-studs to framing members. In the event of a fire, the aluminium clip is designed to melt to allow the fire-side framing members to fall away leaving the Shaft Liner fire barrier intact.
- The clips must be fixed opposite each other on opposite sides of the H-studs.
- Other than the aluminium support clips, there should be no attachments to the Shaft Liner membrane.
- There should be no penetrations of the Shaft Liner
- To maintain acoustic specifications, service pipes must not be in contact with the PartiWALL™ membrane, studs, tracks or clips.

Maximum Permissible Height
Height of the PartiWALL™ Shaft Liner membrane should not exceed 12 metres.
Maximum Unsupported Height
- Horizontal joints in the membrane should not be more than 600mm above aluminium support clips.
- Vertical distance between aluminium clips should not exceed 3 metres.
Control Joints
Where control joints are necessary in the PartiWALL™ membrane, contact the Boral TecASSIST free-call architectural support line for construction details.
Wind Speed
PartiWALL™ is suitable for wind classifications N1 and N2 as determined by AS4055. The system is not to be used in cyclonic areas.
System Performance
Fire, sound and structural specifications are based on tests carried out using Boral products and system design. Performance may be compromised if substitute materials are used and/ or construction does not comply with the recommended design.
