FireClad System Perspective View

  1. Tyvek® Homewrap™ vapour permeable membrane to whole of plasterboard area. Staple fix and lap 100mm over lower membrane
  2. Top hat or zed cladding battens fastened to girts @ 1200mm ctrs. max.
  3. Layers of Boral Plasterboard Firestop as appropriate for required FRL
  4. Stagger all joints in all layers 200mm min.
  5. Colorbond® steel cladding
  6. Provide adequate support to plasterboard and cladding with bridging or sag rods to girts
  7. Girts max 2.0mm BMT @ 1200mm max. ctrs. Girts may also be lapped at column crossings or lie within column depth
  8. Fasteners to sheet ends @ 200mm max. ctrs. staggered
  9. Control joints required at building movement locations
  10. Fasten first layer using Boral Plasterboard Type D Gypsum Board Screws @ 300mm max. ctrs. Pre-drill where girts lapped
  11. Fasten second and any subsequent layers to inner layer(s) with Boral Plasterboard Type L screws @ 600 x 600mm ctrs. in field & @ 200mm ctrs. to ends and edges

FireClad System Perspective View - Upgrade

  1. Tyvek® Homewrap™ vapour permeable membrane to whole of plasterboard area. Lap over lower membrane and staple fix to plasterboard
  2. Layers of Boral Plasterboard Firestop as appropriate for required FRL
  3. Stagger all joints in all layers 200mm min.
  4. Top hat or zed cladding battens fastened to girts to cladding/wind requirements
  5. Colorbond® steel cladding
  6. Vertical 50x50x0.75mm BMT GMS angle @ 600mm max. ctrs. Cripple at girts and fasten with DP wafer head screw at each crossing
  7. Girts max 2.0mm BMT @ 2000mm max. ctrs. Girts may also be lapped at column crossings or lie within column depth
  8. First layer sheet ends butted over girt and fastened @ 200mm max. ctrs. staggered
  9. Control joints required at building movement locations
  10. First layer with sheet edges centered on angles and fastened @ 300mm max. ctrs.
  11. Fasten second and any subsequent layers to inner layer(s) with Boral Plasterboard Type L screws @ 600 x 600mm ctrs. in field & @ 200mm ctrs. to ends and edge
