The coating on BlueScope ZINCALUME® steel comprises of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon. It has excellent forming capabilities and is available in high strength grades. It also provides an exceptional surface for the application of BlueScope tested and true painting process.

Launched in 1976, after intensive research and development, BlueScope ZINCALUME® steel continues to set the standard for corrosion resistance and long life. It's been proven to stand the test of time because it was designed to withstand the rigors of Australia's unique climatic conditions. In fact, for over two decades BlueScope has monitored the product's performance across a wide range of Australian climatic conditions using exposure test sites.
A Significantly Longer Lifespan
BlueScope ZINCALUME® steel was developed after extensive research into improving the traditional performance of galvanised iron. By blending aluminum with zinc in an alloy coating, BlueScope's researchers discovered a way to greatly enhance corrosion resistance. As a result, our extensive testing programme indicates that BlueScope ZINCALUME® steel lifespan is up to four times that of ordinary galvanised steel.
BlueScope Computer Controlled Coating System
BlueScope Coating mass control technology is amongst the most advanced in the world. A sophisticated coating mass gauge is linked to a computer in a closed-loop control system ensuring accurate control and consistency of coating mass.

Wall Cladding
Wall cladding made from ZINCALUME® steel is available in a range of attractive profiles. It is lightweight, versatile and attractive and has excellent corrosion resistance. Steel wall cladding products can also be used in the FireClad® Exterior Wall System for fire rated walling.
