  Install, Maintain : Lysaght Multiline™

Lysaght Multiline™
LYSAGHT MULTILINE® is easily distinguishable by its horizontal micro-fluting along the panel face, a pan contour that casts fashionable shadow lines between each panel.  It has been specifically designed to be fixed to stud frames.

Warnings
  • Not suitable for roofing
  • Minimum order quantity is 5 sheets
  • Manufactured in Queensland - please check availability in your State with your local sales office
  • To extend the life of LYSAGHT MULTILINE®, give it a regular wash down to remove airbourne-pollutants
  • Lead and copper are not compatible with ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel
  • Ensure selection of suitable mateirals for environmental conditions for maximum durability

Installation
Install MULTILINE® panels from the ground up with each subsequent sheet lapping over the previous sheet. The two methods of lapping recommended are the Edge Lap joint and Pan Lap joint as depicted below.

Screw each sheet to supports behind at every flat contact area 150 mm apart. Ensure each fastener is straight and not over tightened.

Installation
Fastener Selection - Valley Fixing
Fixing to steel up to 1 mm thick Type 17 screws with wafer-head 10-12x20
Fixing to steel 1 mm to 3 mm thick Metal Teks screws with wafer-head 10-16x16
Timber Type 17 screws with wafer-head
Softwood: 10-12x30
Hardwood: 10-12x20

KEY:  Fasteners per sheet per support (Number of fasteners depends on wind pressure)

Sealed Joints
It is not practical to solder ZINCALUME® steel, so where sealed joints are required use 10 – 16 x 16 wafer head screws and silicone sealant.

Only sealant branded as suitable for use with galvanized or ZINCALUME® steel should be used.

General Notes

Precaution
MULTILINE® is installed in a ‘horizontal rib’ configuration, therefore, a significant volume of wind-driven water may accumulate at corners, columns and other such joints. These points require careful detailing of flashings to ensure water is channelled and discharged clear of the facade.

Compatibility
LEAD OR COPPER ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with COLORBOND® steel or ZINCALUME® steel.

Copper gutters, pipes etc, must not be discharged onto ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel products.

Where underside condensation conditions are likely, coated steel purlins, girts etc, should be used to avoid any ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel contact to bare steel.

MULTLINE™ should not be installed in contact with, or subject to run-off from materials which have been treated with preservatives (eg, CCA or tanalith-treated timber.)

Handling and Storage
MULTILINE® is normally delivered in strapped bundles which must not be allowed to get wet. If not required for immediate use, bundles should be stacked clear of the ground and if left in the open, protected with waterproof covers. Moisture trapped between the surfaces of nested sheets cannot evaporate normally and can cause unsightly coating damage which may reduce the life of the product.

If bundles become wet, the sheets should be separated, wiped with a clean cloth and stacked so that air circulation completes the drying process.

Care and Maintenance
For optimum product life, MULTILINE® should be washed down regularly and areas not cleansed by rainfall, (such as the tops of walls sheltered by eaves) should be washed about every six months to avoid early corrosion due to a build up of airborne pollutants.

Cutting
MULTILINE® can be cut with a power saw with a metal cutting blade running at a minimum 4,000 rpm. Please observe all relevant safety procedures when cutting metal sheeting and protect all adjacent building products from sparks and debris.

Whenever possible, cutting should be done on the ground and not over other coated metal. Sheets should be placed face down on padded supports. Cutting should not be carried out on top of other painted surfaces. Debris from cutting or drilling may corrode if left on the surface or entrapped in overlaps may. These particles should be swept or hosed from the job at the end of each day.

Minimum Order Quantity
The minimum order quantity for MULTILINE® is 5 sheets, as trials have shown that a lesser quantity can be subject to handling and transit damage.
