TYPICAL ALUCOBOND SPECIFICATION
Composite panels shall be ALUCOBOND as manufactured by Alcan Composites and supplied throughout Australasia by their exclusive agents, Alucobond Architectural Pty Ltd.
Alucobond panels shall consists of 2 face sheets of 0.5mm thick aluminium sandwiching a core of low density polyethylene, formed in a continuous process without glues or adhesives between face sheets and core.
Aluminium face sheets shall be Allow AlMg 1-NS41 having an ultimate tensile strength of 130 MPa and 0.2% stress of 90 Mpa.
One face sheet, unless noted otherwise, shall be pre-finished in colour selected from ALUCOBOND standard or complimentary colour range with PVF2 Kynar 500 paint applied by continuous coil coating process. Spray application not acceptable. Applied coating shall be protected with strippable UV stabilised PE film. Special custom colours are subject to minimum quantity requirements.
Rear face sheet to be Mill Finish unless noted otherwise.
ALUCOBOND panels prior to fabrication shall be stored horizontally on a dry, flat, level surface and protected from damage from other trades .
Fabrication techniques as recommended by Alucobond Architectural Pty Ltd shall be strictly adhered to. These include cutting, grooving, folding, bending and rolling Information concerning these techniques can be obtained from Alucobond Architectural Pty Ltd.
